About BrowserCraft

A directory and launcher for games that run in a web browser — including the ones the big portals do not host.

Who runs BrowserCraft

BrowserCraft is a small, independent project run by Double Potion (doublepotion.com). It is not owned by a game studio or a publisher, and no game pays to be listed or ranked.

The site is paid for by advertising (Google AdSense). Ads never sit on top of or right next to a game you are playing, and pages about adult content carry none.

Where the data comes from

  • IGDB (the Internet Game Database, run by Twitch) for game records: titles, summaries, release dates, developers, genres, platforms, covers, screenshots and trailers. We import the games IGDB lists for the web browser platform.
  • The games’ own sites, which is where every Play button leads. We do not host or copy any game: a game either runs inside our page from its official address, or we open that address in a new tab.
  • An automatic play check that visits each game’s address, follows redirects and reads whether the site allows being shown inside another page. That decides whether a game says “Play”, “Play on its site ↗” or “Unavailable”.
  • You: the “Did it work?” votes and “Not working?” reports on each game’s page.

Ratings shown on game pages are IGDB’s, and are labelled as such. Descriptions are IGDB’s unless a page says otherwise; the “How to play” notes and FAQs on the most visited games are written by us.

Report a broken game

Every game page has a Not working? button under the game. Pick what went wrong — a blank screen, the wrong website, spam, a login wall — and it goes straight to the list we check. Reports are anonymous: we store the reason you chose and nothing about you.

Corrections and removal

If a game’s details are wrong, the fastest fix is usually on IGDB itself, which anyone can edit; changes reach this site with the next import. For anything else — a wrong link, a game that should not be listed, or a request from a developer or rights holder — email [email protected]. We read everything and act on takedown requests promptly.

Developers can also find a badge for their game’s site on the For developers page.

Privacy

There are no accounts. Favourites and recently played games are stored in your own browser. Analytics and advertising are described in the privacy policy.
