You get 6 tries to guess the secret word. The secret word is between 4 and 7 letters and you can guess words between 4 and 7 letters. Shorter secret words may have trailing spaces or leading spaces. Spaces might be at the beginning, the end, or both.

Letters in your guess are: green if you guessed a letter in the right place; yellow if the letter is somewhere else in the word; or grey if the letter is not in the word.

The game presents players with a grid of seven letters arrayed in a honeycomb structure. The player scores points by using the letters to form words consisting of four or more letters. Scoring points leads to progressively higher praise for the player's effort, such as "Solid", "Amazing", and "Genius". Each puzzle is guaranteed to have at least one pangram, which awards the player the largest number of points when found. If the player finds all of the possible words in a given puzzle, they achieve the title of "Queen Bee".
